I had a counseling appointment last night that I was REQUIRED to set up because, once again, my ex has decided that he wants custody of my son. Any time I struggle or fall, he looks at it as an opportunity to try this and called CPS on me hoping to have a negative report to use against me. Well after talking with this counselor (who I actually really liked) and telling her just the things I’ve gone through in that past 3 years she told me I was a “bad-ass”! And, no, CPS has NOTHING negative to report. Take that ex!! This is me.

If you’re like me, then the holidays are a time of elaborate decoration, gift-giving and the hidden look of disappointment in your parents’ eyes as they come to terms with another season that you’ve stood by your decision not to have children. Luckily for my parents, my younger sister has two little boys that love Christmas! My parents adore them and my sister and her husband are heavily involved in their lives and forming nostalgic memories for them to look back fondly on.  One of the “traditions” that my sister introduced is the Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition.

Pole Dreams

PoleDreamsHello and welcome to my new blog!

I used to blog a lot on tumblr, but I wanted to find something a little more personal.  I just turned 43 and after years of not working out anymore, I’ve decided to try something new: Pole Fitness.  I’ve thought about this for quite some time and I finally took the plunge and visited my local Fit Pole studio for a tour and more information.  While I haven’t actually taken a class yet, I find that I am currently obsessed with even the thought of being able to become that graceful and flexible.

I’m hoping to have the discipline and desire to document my pole journey as well as other bits and pieces of my life. Here’s to a “pole” new me!
